For mental health professionals

More time for care. Less friction around it.

Emotist is a place for qualified, verified practitioners to see clients online. We handle discovery, booking, payments and reminders; clinical decisions stay entirely with you.

How to apply

Four steps from first email to a live profile.

1. Send your details

Write to us using the form below with your qualifications, years of practice, therapeutic approach and the concerns you work with. A CV or profile link helps.

2. Share your documents

We ask for your degree certificates, any professional registration or licence, and proof of supervised clinical hours or ongoing supervision.

3. Conversation with our team

A short call about how you work, the approaches you are trained in, your availability and the kinds of clients you are best placed to support.

4. Profile goes live

Once verification is complete we help you build your public profile, approach, focus areas, languages, fees and availability, and open your calendar.

Applications are usually reviewed within one to two weeks, depending on how quickly documents and references can be confirmed.

Verification

What we check before anyone sees clients.

  • Academic qualifications in psychology, clinical psychology, psychiatric social work, counselling or psychiatry, checked against the original certificates.
  • Professional registration or licence where your qualification requires one, verified with the issuing body.
  • Evidence of supervised clinical practice, and a preference for practitioners who remain in regular supervision.
  • Grounding in a recognised, evidence-based therapeutic approach, discussed during the conversation with our team.
  • Agreement to Emotist's code of ethics, confidentiality standards and client-safety expectations.

We keep your documents confidential and use them only to verify your practice. Your public profile shows your qualifications and approach, never your personal paperwork.

Fees and payouts

Transparent about money, on both sides.

You set your session fee

You decide what you charge per session. Your fee is shown openly on your profile so clients know the cost before they book.

A platform share per session

Emotist keeps a share of each completed session to run the platform, payments and support. We confirm the exact percentage in writing before you join, there is no joining fee and no monthly subscription.

Regular payouts

Client payments are collected at booking and settled to your account on a regular cycle, with a statement of the sessions included.

Cancellations handled for you

Our published cancellation policy applies to every booking, so late cancellations and no-shows are handled consistently without you having to negotiate them.

What you get

The tools around your practice.

Practice management

Scheduling, reminders and follow-ups handled in one place, so less of your week goes to admin.

Secure client care

Communication and online sessions run through a platform built for mental health care.

Structured workflows

The practical parts of ongoing care stay organised, without interfering with your clinical judgement.

Continuity and progress

Support thoughtful, evidence-based care that continues over time rather than quick fixes.

Apply or ask a question

Write to our team.

Tell us about your qualifications, your approach and the concerns you work with. If you have a CV or professional profile link, include it in your message.

Submitting opens your email app with this message addressed to hello@emotist.com, so nothing is stored on this website. We usually reply within two working days. Please do not share clinical details you would rather discuss with a therapist directly.

Built around professional standards

Emotist is designed to support recognised therapeutic approaches, ethical practice and transparent professional information.
